My Archeologist son was taking a lunch break from a dig on the grounds of Cornell in Ithaca and went into a local re-use center looking for computer stuff, he saw this and sent me a phone-pic. Went back today and picked up my very first vintage washer, being that I'm heavy on d/ws and ranges heretofore, this is new territory. I'm a Pank and BOL kinda guy so it was love at first sight:

the innards

look pretty durn clean! This thing is purported to run, and if the frickin weather here in NY ever clement-izes I shall endeavor to find out more, it's in the garage and will have to reside them for awhile.

I've been wanting a Frigie washer for sometime, and am v excited to be a vintage washer owner... finally! Oh, and it's a 1960 Deluxe BTW.

Did you connect it? As it's a time-filled machine, you can make it work without water in it!

Did you get the yellow oven too?

Absolutely gorgeous Roger

And PANK too! Holla that is a low use machine you can tell by being able to still read "CIRCULATOR" & "LINT CHASER" on the rings.

What a find, just be sure the pump is dead empty in the freezing weather. I might even have the impeller for this baby.

Holla! Gawd the belts aren't even frayed!!!

Nothing wrong with a BOL Frigidaire (says he who only owns a Canadian Deluxe washer...)! It looks great!! The original pulsator looks in decent shape, too!

I guess this would be a multimatic... Do you have the model number and serial number for Ben yet?? LOL

Congratulations, Roger!!

"your son is now an appliance Archeologist?"

yes, I've trained him well! LOL

Paul it's a WD-60, semi BOL, the true BOL was the WS-60 "Super", I guess it was considered highly inferior to the "Deluxe", oh the shame!! ... ya just gotta love 'Merican merchandising propaganda back then! LOL

Mine

Nah, you don't want that old pink thing. After all it matches my little pink 1957 GE combo fridge. It belongs with me. And when you find my matching dryer let me know. :)

oh wow!!!

what a beauty!!! it looks super!!! thanks for sharing them GREAT pictures. can't wait to hear/read an update on how well it works & if there is any "t.l.c." needed to get this beauty up & running!!!

keeping my fingers crossed for ya!!!

LOVE IT!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

:O)

After you use it!

You will say..Why on earth would anyone WANT a new washer...just be sure to load it as if the tub had 4 sections...or you will have a rope of clothes!!LOL That never bothered me, I figured if the tangled, it meant they were doing something!!

Lookin' good, and what a fun find!  Yes, as Paul mentioned, throw that serial number my way if you don't mind.

Ben

thanks all...

have a feeling that finding a matching dryer for this thing will be kind of like old Diogenes wandering lamp in hand looking for an honest man! LOL

Now I need to plan a kitchen that'll allow this to sit next to our Pank '56 HP range somehow!

Will get the serial, need to move all the crap that's already on top of it, as getting it into the garage with DWs car still able to fit in there was a challenge!
