Yes, brings back memories, but not just that washer & dryer combo, but how 'bout when we used to have PHONE BOOTHS????!!!!

(Now is that washer/dryer gonna change into Super Capacity Set 1-18????)

There are still a few phone booths around but they are getting almost as rare as these GM laundry centers!

 



 

If they change into Super capacity 1-18, I'm wondering if they'll change color too?!

Have always been intrigued by this machine, but haven't seen one in person, not once, alas. In my mind the Skinny Mini always seemed like a toy. Of course, I 'd love to play with one, but......

 

Have any of our members grown up with one or used it regularly, and can a Skinny MIni "do the wash" well enough to satisfy?

I do use my GMini washer (which has the same Agitub and Synchro-Swing mechanism as the Laundry Center) occasionally for small loads. I'm not very impressed by it's washing action but I guess I could say it works! It certainly works better than a Suzy Homemaker (from which it seems inspired from!). But I wouldn't want to rely on that alone (or the 110V dryer that goes with mine!).

 

I guess the best thing about these washers is the innovative uses of plastics for their inner and outer tubs.

I had a skinny mini

back in the 80s, mine looked just like the one in" todays pic of the day", same color ect. Mine did have a 220v for the dryer, and remember seeing a 110 v model in a motor home once ?
We got by with it for a long time!
I think I kind of miss it now *LOL*
Had almost forgotten about it!
