Pack/Ship Transmission for G E Washer WWA5610BALAD

Happy to find a new transmission for my vintage (about 1982)G E washing machine Model #WWA5610BALAD that is leaking a small amount of oil. Found transmission in Florida. Had planned to take back on my flight back to Ohio after visiting relatives. Was advised that it had to be shipped upright due to oil inside. True? Would pack upright, but can't trust cargo handlers and conveyor belts not to tip it over once or twice. What do you think? Thanks.

Shipping A GE Washer Transmission

It does not have to stay upright but its not a bad idea, it should be in a plastic bag in case there is any leakage of course.

 

Most of all it needs to be packed securely so it can not move around in the box and poke through and get damaged.
