Hi guys,...it might be common knowledge to audio buffs, but i was wondering if Panasonic or rather Matsushita has dropped the Technics line of audio equipment? I have a Technics rack system that is about 15 yrs. old now,and it has the carousel 5 cd player you load from the top.

Still going strong and such a convenient player to load.Even despite the featherweight construction of the whole system,it is amazingly reliable.

I was one of those people who thought quality meant heavy duty tank like constuction. I was wrong.Even though real audiophiles would laugh me off the map,i think for how long this player has lasted, i would definitely get a system just like it again,....anyway,we all know it's the speakers that really count ;-)

Thought it might be a fun topic.

I beleive the Panasonic "Technics" line of equipment is now marketed to the professional sector-the turntables and a line of CD players.Seen them in broadcast supply catalogs.Ei-Broadcast Supply West.I have several Technics turntables-model S15 that came from a radio station chain that converted to all digital. They still work that I know off. They are missing cartridges.Just haven't had time to fix 'em up.They are WELL used.I used to own a Tecnics Preamp and a pair of older Technics speakers. They were pretty nice peices of equipment no matter what the High end audiophiles say.In fact the Technics apparatus is a downright bargain.Good performance at a low price. The present professional customers for Technics TT's like them because they are reliable and pretty durable. The customers are presently radio stations(those that play records on occasion and for their production studios)As a matter of fact the broadcast agency I work for has Technics TT's in their studios-I installed them.Discos and mobile DJ's like them.
