Has anybody been to see Paranormal Activity yet? Is it worth the 8 bucks?

My dear Mother and Father who are in their 70's went to see it. They are both horror movie freaks.
They both said it was the most stupid movie that had ever seen. My mom had a hard time watching the whole movie, but kept thinking it would get better at some point. And she said it did not.

My son and I went to see it on Halloween. He giggled a few times and I "shushed" him not wanting to be rude to others around us, but at about the half-way point in the movie, I joined all the people in the theater laughing out loud. I thought this was the dumbest horror film I've seen since "Child's Play" and that silly doll darting around with a knife!

Its not a typical horror film though.. I like the idea behind it and the fact that it makes you think...
