Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Stephen-- Your new twin-tub is beautiful! I didn't realize they were still being made. I'm fascinated by the little lint filter bag. Doesn't it ever just pull off its housing? I see them on a lot of Asian-manufactured machines. How fast does it spin? Congratulations and hope you'll post some photos of the washer in action.

Hi Frigilux,
Thank you for your comments, yes you are correct twin tubs are pretty much extinct here now, I think this is probably the only one left on the market here in Australia now, Hitachi used to do 2 models however Hitachi has now left Australia and so it's products are not available any longer.
The little lint bag does not come of in the wash it is quite firmly attatched to it's casing.
I am not sure what the spin speed is, the manual does not state it however it is very fast, a load will come out almost dry,if I took a guess I would say about 1600-1800 rpm's.
I have had it just on 2 years now and it has not missed a beat, very happy with it.

these little twinnies are fab! I think the wash load is much greater than the older twinnies of the 50's and 60's. I am trying to source a local Supermatic for a friend of mine who's current SM is almost dead. I may steer him in the direction of these new ones. I know they don't have a heater but he says he never uses one anyway as the tap water is so hot. Thanks for the piccies!

Would they sell well

Hi Bpetersxx,
Certainly some interesting concepts with a few of those twintubs in planning, in particualr the really large models,if Haier were to release a range of tt's in the U.S.A.,do you think they would sell ok?,or do most American consumers, like most Aussie consumers go for large capacity top loaders/and front loading automatics?
Cheers.
Steve.
