Not sure what the wattage or BTU heat output on the Bendix Super Fast dryer is, but assume it’s a low air output dryer much like Maytag’s low air output dryers that came before the HOH and other low air output dryers like the Hamilton as well.

The Super Fast dryer was a new introduction for 1956-57;  larger capacity, higher heating ratings (up to 8000W electric, 33,000 BTU gas) and nearly double the airflow of 200 Cu Ft/min.  This new model was the first of Bendix to require a 4" vent.

Previous "Fluff & Tumble" dryer models were still offered but became more of the economy choice in the lineup.

Why would you assume something about a dryer you know nothing about? This was a high airflow dryer with a heated air inlet opening that stretched across the full width of the drum and operated at high temperature. Key words in the ad are more air warm balmy air not baking Sahara heat. Unfortunately, the air was warmer than warm, especially if the timer was set too long and the clothes over dried. User complaints led to Bendix service being sent to owners to modify the machine to resolve complaints. On the other hand, the dryer was probably good at drying the wash from machines that did not extract very well, like earlier Bendix washers or wringer machines.

Many early dryers then had to cope with wash either from wringer machines or automatics with comparatively low final spin rpm. Thus some either ran from hot to boiling across the board, others were marketed as "super fast" or whatever touting their high heat output that got the job done quickly.

Consider also domestic textiles and often clothing were often made from heavier fabrics than today. Most popular fabric for bed linen was muslin which being made from thicker yarns than percale is heavier and holds more water.
