Just realized that’s how much the one 1966 Ford LTD was that popped up for sale here in California 3 years ago back in 2021. Still kind of sore about it since I never got a response, despite inquiring multiple times (usually like to be persistent since I don’t like to pester and bug people), even more sore knowing it only had 11,000 original miles on it.

My Uncle owned a '66 Ford "Custom" 4 door sedan, it was a no-frills car (much like my Uncle) and was powered by Ford's indestructible 240 inline "Big Six" mated to a 3 speed "3 on the tree" transmission.
If I remember correctly the only 2 options it had was an AM radio and the heater delete, it did not even have power steering.
He drove it a gadzillion miles and traded it in for, of all cars a '77 or '78 Vega wagon, he truly grew to despise Chevrolet and GM because of that POS...

I imagine it was just like this one. Literally the closest thing to a NOS car from 1966.

This is what we need today, no nonsense transportation that will get you anywhere. If a problem does arise, very simple to repair.

I mean GM had Frigidaire as a division, Ford once owned Philco, Chrysler has the Airtemp air conditioning division, AMC once owned Kelvinator. Off topic? Yes, however all the US automakers at one point did at one point make appliance and air conditioning equipment.
