Hi everyone. From an idea given to me by washer111 in this thread, I've worked on and just installed the first of many changes.

The first change will only effect upgraded members. Now when you press the RINSE indicator button from any of the Index Pages you will be brought into the thread just like before, but only the replies you haven't see yet will be loaded. So what that means is lets say you are following a long thread of over 100 posts and two people have added replies since the last time you checked that thread, it will only load the two new posts.

If you wish to load the entire thread, either use the WASH or SPIN buttons or simply click the new link under the title of the thread (see image below).

Please let me know if you spot anything unusual or any bugs associated with this change.

What do you all think of this BIG change? Questions? Comments? I'd like to hear all.

Thanks again everyone.[this post was last edited: 4/2/2014-11:03]

Like the last upgrade you made I discovered the new change 5 - 10 mins before you posted this thread.

While It caught me by surprise at first, this is a really neat change!   So far it's working with no issues!

Thank you Robert for all of the dedication and hard work you put into AW for us, your extended family!

Update / correction

I was just in Imperial saw that Peteski50 had replied to this thread since I last looked at it.

<form action="http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?52321_23" accept-charset="UNKNOWN" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" method="post"><span class="threadnum">Thread# 52321</span> <span class="threadtitle">Rescued !! 1938 Bendix</span>    <a title="view this thread sorted with the newest posts on top"></a>

However when I clicked the "rinse" button, it took me to the "thread" and I saw:

You are only seeing new replies since you last viewed this thread, click here to load the enire thread

.... but the rest of the page was blank (pink).  I could not see Peteski50's post until I clicked to see the entire thread.

Kevin if that happens again could you please take a screen shot of the actual page and post it here including the url, the buttons on the index page wont help me see what is going on.

Thank you.

Never mind everyone, I'm going to temporarily pull this out because what I didn't take into account is the difference in the timezones.

OK I made another change. Let me know if anything else seems off and the related thread number that it happened in. Thanks again!

I guess that saves a lot of data traffic!
Yes that is a good thing, plus for people on slower connections and mobile phone users this should help speed up things enormously for them as well.

What's the other change you made? Or are we supposed to guess? ;-)
Thanks Louis, when I said "first change" I meant this one, lol. I probably should have said that differently.

Thanks guys, I suspect there is something up with that Bendix thread. I'll check it out, otherwise it appears to be working fine.

I did just post over on the Wishlist - but I might as well offer my thanks again!

Thanks Robert for your tireless efforts to keep us happy, it is appreciated so very much :)

will check it out .. Robert, huge thanks for what you do...

for this Site. I already have used two of the new features (blocking a user and skipping the preview for a short post).

Nice job, man!

1938 Bendix thread

Robert, I just went back to Jon's 1938 Bendix thread and seeing someone (Chuck / perc-o-prince) had replied, I clicked the yellow "RINSE" button and this is what came up.

There haven't been any new replies since you last checked this thread, click here to load the enire thread

Here's a photo of my screen.    For some reason my camera didn't focus properly.

I believe you also wanted the URL:

I hope this is what you need!

YAY! I saw the new RINSE feature before I read here. EXPECIALLY (sic) for the long threads or ones with extensive imaging, it skips not only viewing but LOADING the stuff you already saw.

A quiet suggestion in the form of a question: Would context read better if RINSE took you to the first unread post MINUS ONE? So you saw the last thing you saw before and THEN the first unread.
