Please welcome a new member to our group: John S. AKA Harvestgold, in SanDiego Calif. John is a little shy in posting but did leave a post on another thread last week. Although John has been a junk collector for many many years, he is rather new to the world of appliance collecting and is getting a very good start. He has aquired a fabulous aqua Kenmore washer and dryer set from the 60's, aqua 1959 GE Frost Guard bottom freezer refrigerator, and his latest purchase was from me: a 1968 GE Versatronic Washer & Dryer in Harvest Gold! This is a very rare set with the completely variable speed feature on the washer........Congrats John and enjoy your new set.......

I was rather surprised that Beltman didnt pack these before moving, but they said they would wrap them in a shipping blanket before moving the truck.........here they are going up on the lift..........

Fellow San Diegan

Jimmy,

You'll have to pass Johns contact info to me, I live in San Diego too. Matter of fact I was one of the first members of the classic appliances yahoo group that Rob started. Those are some beautiful machines and I love all your cars!

Hi Steven, Im sure John would love to hear from you. Just go to our profiles section here, he has his email listed, (Harvestgold). He has a bunch of old cars too to go along with all the junk he and I have collected thru the years.......right John?

BTW Steve, you are most welcome to join us for the wash in at Mikes in Long Beach if you like. He has a great house, lots of very interesting items and a wonderful new laundry room! Hes a GE man and proud of it! Right Mike?

Harvest Gold is well-liked by many (already)

COOL machines, more details and insight would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting how the dryer has pushbuttons while the washer has ....has...has that other type of switches. What is that word I am looking for?...it escapses me.. anyway..

What is that fabulous dishwasher behind the GE W/D set with the timer in the access panel? Enquiring minds want to know!

I love that set!

Congratulations! A dream set, it brings back so many memories. Loved flicking the toggle switches and listening to the clutches and brakes as ours went thru the cycles.. not the variable speed model, but the look is the same.

Welcome to the club!

YAY! Congratulations John and welcome to the club, those GE's are beautiful machines and it sounds like you're getting a great start!
