I'm sorry, but a Lady Kenmore without a fluorescent light just seems wrong.

No light.
It is a little wrong, but they did bring the light back now and then after this.
I was working at Sears part-time and bought this washer and dryer that had been return/repo from a military family. Less than a year old, I bought the set for essentially the price of the dryer after employee discount, etc. I always liked the dispensers, with only a small amount of cleaning care, they worked perfectly.

Oh, good; I'm glad someone started a POD thread on this one, as I have a question: Is this Lady Kenmore a belt drive or direct drive? The Dual-Action agitator has me leaning toward DD, but the very first Dual-Actions were on BDs, right?
On console lights: I miss them, too. In the age of super-efficient LED lighting you'd think they'd make a comeback. They'd probably outlast the machines, LOL!

I think that since the washer is 27 inches wide, it is a direct drive. I tested out a similar machine with the pretty gray, white and blue control panel and it was definitely a DD.

The washer is for sure a DD. It looks to be an 87 or 88 model. At this time the LK was actually 1 model down from TOL. That spot belonged to the KM Limited which added solid state electronic controls, more color options and a full width console light.
These LKs were very well made and well optioned machines. Like most any WP built washer they did a great job on clothes and lasted a long time.

The dual action agitators were first available in the belt drive machines. The last of the BD's were the center dial woodgrain topped consoles. When they went to the style like in the beginning of this thread they were DD machines.
