All right, which freaks you out more, stains or wrinkles?

For me, it's stains. I spray. I scrub. I soak. I re-wash. I do this a lot, since my depth perception is not-so-good. I generally prefer to drink most soups.

Wrinkles do not faze me one bit. As long as the garment is clean, I'm not the least bit bothered about looking like (as an ex put it, "an unmade bed".)

And you?

Stains

Wrinkles, unless they are on my face, can be ironed away. Stains are many times there to stay. I have thrown items away because of a stain.

"Wrinkles, God's way of saying I'm walking on your face"

Stains

Stains for me. 90% of wrinkles are banished after a short 3 minute cycle in the dryer. Wrinkles won't render a piece of clothing to become useless.

Since stains are generally not as issue, using a good quality detergent removes most stains I come across without pretreating its the wrinkles I cannot stand.

Depends on my mood though and what im doing I guess,

If im pottering around with the collection I may just wear something out the ironing basket and not worry about the wrinkledness its in.
Dont even mind popping to the shops like that either I mean who cares?

Also depending upon fashions and where Im going I may wear an unironed shirt and jeans so I dont look to say "frumpy'.

Work clothes are a different matter and they must be pressed or im very conscious and let the fact worry me all day.
Its just not proffessional enough.

That said again I dont spin creases into clothes nor believe in giving everything fast spins.
500rpm is the best speed I have found for work clothes which then get hung up to dry either outside or on the clothesmaid.
Same with casual t shirts sweaters and the such.
The creases just fall out of them which helps with quickly smoothing the iron over them.

Jeans only get 1000rpm max along with other heavy cottons to help them dry quicker and still not crease too badly.

Wrinkled tablecloths, napkins and shirts where wrinkles should not be seen, cardinal sin for me,

Rob

For me both stains and wrinkles are items of equal worry

Stains I do pre-traet and the Sears detergent does a pretty good job also, I can't stand to see any stains, I think it makes things look cheap and trashy,(people wearing stained things included).

Wrinkles for me don't matter if I am at home or going to the flea market since I don't dress to impress at home unless I have company coming, and at the flea market even with moderate wrinkles I am still neater looking than the majority of people there.
For work attire wrinkles are an absolute NoNo, while most people don't care I expect my uniform to be up to the Judy Ridge standards, which would be a perfectly ironed and heavily starched ceil blue scrub top and perfectly ironed and starched double pleated ceil blue or white scrub pants and a crisp white lab coat, all wrinkle free and you go through all efforts to stay wrinkle free all day so you still look neat and professional unlike most people.
Same goes with table linens and draperies, I heavily starch and press all table linens and draperies including my lace curtains and pinch-pleated sheers, makes them hang neater.

STAINS

blaaa!!!! stains are fingerprints form satan my ocd goes in high gear with a stained garment god forbid its a really good one too! im a pretreater to the core!!! soak if i have to rewash scrub to get rid of whatever it is but usually one pretreat soak and wash its all GONE! wrinkles? whats that...LOL

Stains....

...I live by the mantra that only 2 stains have defeated me...

...something unidentifiable on a cotton t-shirt; and
...beetroot dip on denim

So wrinkles are a doddle, but most stains are too....

neither are a worry to me anymore.
Stains get murdered in the Miele and then wrinkles get smoothed out in the 8 minute Smoothing cycle in the Miele dryer. Put them on a airer with no pegs to mark the hems or on coat hangers in the shade and your set. Unless of course u need them now now now in which case i just put them in the sunlight or allow them to go on a proper cycle in the dryer

Stain, Stain Go Away!

I hate stains, and with my poor eyesight, and the crappy lighting in my basement, most go unseen until I'm folding or putting clothes on hangers. I found out with some stains such as oil from cooking if missed the first time and pretreated with Dawn dish soap the stain comes out. I'm not concerned about wrinkles too much, unless I'm going somewhere important.

Stains!

Wrinkles on fabrics I can easily remove using my super Arno (Rowenta in the U.S.) Steam generator iron.
Facial wrinkles I can avoid them using Avon Renew or kindkly ask the lovely Dr. Rolón or Dr. Rovilson to remove them once a year. (Some friends say that next year my skin will be so streched that I'll look like one of the Doctor Who's vilains that's thin like a paper.
