Hello everybody :)

As you might know (but surely you don't know) I always preferred powders to liquids for my washing.
Anyway as a precaution to colour fading I always used liquid detergents on darks and the cleaning results are fine most of the times as I don't get at all that dirty so the clothes only need a refreshing.

The thing is that liquids don't get rid of armpit nor crotch smell from garments I have used at the gym and mind it, I've always used strong, enzyme laden detergents like the English Ariel and the Italian Dixan (actually Henkel Persil) or local stuff like overpriced DEOX or Econcentrato from Realchimica.
And everything goes in my super crappy Whirlpool washing machine to have a ride in the uberlong cottons 40°C cycle.
Water is fairly hard at 39 German degrees (or 41,7 grains) and I dose the detergent accordingly, having used disinfectants or chemical water softeners didn't change the situation!

Everything changed all of a sudden when I ran accidentally out of liquid detergent this Saturday and resolved by using the powder, Dash (P&G Italian version of Ariel Actilift). I used the standard dosage (some 30% less than the recommended amount for hard water) and started the machine. Stuff got an additional rinse with conditioner as usual and line dried as usual.

GUESS WHAT!?!?
All the odours were gone! Not even a hint of armpit smell and no sweat smell at all! And the stains due to deodorant were gone.

So this is my verdict! Darks will get the standard treatment with powder and from now on I'll use liquid only for very delicate stuff and curtains!
