The linked article and comments indicate that it's already in escrow, but this one is the most move-in ready I can remember seeing.  One of the best things about it is that a current day stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher would blend in perfectly with the existing cook top and ovens.

I would certainly figure out a way to add landscaping in the back yard.  The summer heat must be crazy oppressive out there with all of that concrete.  Greenery covering all fencing and plants that create a tropical effect would give it a resort atmosphere as well as lower the reverb effect of even the quietest conversations.  I love the privacy from the street that this place affords.

I'm betting this is in ZIP 95125 or an adjacent one.

Pictures are weird to access, but there are a lot more than four of them.

Would I be a heretic . . .

. . . if I replaced the coil cooktops with, well, you know.

Pretty nice, mostly unmolested home. Not 3 million nice with a yearly $35,000+ property tax bill IMO.

Looks like the counters in the kitchen were replaced sometime in the 70s/80s/90s. I would install a vintage dishwasher once the new one craps out, which won't take long at all.

Carpet in the master bathroom would have to go. I would also fab up a period correct garage door to keep clutter out of sight.

I'm curious about the washers/dryers that graced the laundry room from 1958 through the 80's.

Nice MCM home

Nice home has a lot of great potential to be a cool place to live, would be a little worried about the heating and cooling cost. I am assuming it has radiant floor heat. It looks like it also has desirable central air from above

Always love those double side-by-side Thermidor ovens, those are original to the house as are the cooktops, I’d probably have to replace that stainless steel countertop with the cooktops are and install a new 36 inch chrome monogram GE induction cooktop that would look really good in there and as mentioned it would look good with a modern counter depth stainless steel refrigerator in that kitchen , can’t tell what it looks like they put a white dishwasher in it not sure why maybe it’s my computer, but it would be very easy to have a nice sleek stainless steel dishwasher in there as well.

Dishwasher

I'm going to assume that an elderly person was the last occupant of the home and hazard a guess that they had some kind of home warranty coverage.  I think we can all agree that the original 1958 dishwasher had been replaced long ago, and likely at that time stainless steel wasn't all the rage so the next machine was white.  I know from experience with my mom's coverage that the insurance will go with the cheapest possible option they can get away with, and one thing they won't ever do is upgrade from like-for-like, so in such a scenario, dishwasher #3 would have ended up being white as well.

So John, were Thermador and L&H brands basically the same back in 1958?  I never thought L&H was a TOL make, but considering the elaborate TD cooktop which had to have been quite expensive, I'm guessing L&H was an equally costly brand.

And considering the deluxe nature of the cooktop, it occurred to me that the patio area might have been the perfect spot for a GE Partio cart at one point in time -- and still would be.

L&H wall ovens, etc.

Hi Ralph, Thermidor owned L&H by this time and from what I can tell, they were identical products probably just marketed through different dealers, etc.

I would assume that the cooktops were LNH as well but again the same as Thermidor.

I have no idea whether the homeowner would’ve had a homeowners warranty. It seems unlikely a home that expensive that cost $35,000 for taxes a year why you would bother getting a homeowners warranty. Although if the owner had the house for a long time, I guess their taxes would’ve been considerably less

The KitchenAid dishwasher in the kitchen currently is less than five years old and it would’ve actually been hard to get in white so I’m not sure if it’s white or stainless but white is currently more expensive than stainless steel in most appliances.

You’re certainly correct. This would be a great home for a patio cart.

John, I think it’s likely this home was under a proposition 13 tax assessment. If so, yearly taxes were probably under $5K, and maybe well below that if all of the local tax measures for schools, libraries, roads, parks, etc. weren’t added on

The county is for sure thrilled about this property finally changing hands!
