Pssst... wanna buy a vintage washer? Only $1500

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I remember,

seeing on E-bay a Kenmore wringer. It was advertised as the first electric wringer, I believe, and they said it was from the 1940's. It was a mid 1960's model, rusted out and in awful condition. Starting bid price - $5,000! They kept re-listing it over and over. All I could do was laugh my ass off!

what would be a rather nominal price to pay for some of these vintage machines?

maybe a post to give an idea of how much is too much, or what a great deal we would have gotten a machine for....

just a thought!

I can't imagine paying over $500.00 to $800.00 for a vintage set in excellent condition, and with parts getting scarce, that investment could turn into zero dollars...but I could be wrong......

At the most, that machine is worth $150.00. Probably closer to $50.00 because the engine needs an overhaul. I assume it would cost more to rebuild the engine than the machine's actual value. It would save him a lot of time and aggravation to either scrap it, or sell it for parts. What, exactly, is this guy smoking? I guess there's a sucker born every minute.

I posted the exact same machine last Saturday that was just as nice, if not nicer, for $100.

Personally, I wouldn't pay $1500 for 14 of those machines in the same condition.
