Picked up a mid 80's (brown console/buttons) Maytag A512 washer and D512 dryer over the weekend. Washer works fine except I noticed a water leak running down the outside of the outer tub when filling. After researching here I see its probably the injector hose. But Im not sure which hose I need. I checked on easyapplianceparts and found two different injector hoses. One is a curved all rubber assembly with the flange end. The other style is a longer rubber hose that attaches to a plastic flange fitting that uses a rubber washer.

Replacement on ebay but A512 is not listed as a model it fits.

better to note exactly where the water is coming from, could be a hose, injector assembly, or even a rusted clamp that came off......injector assembly may be hard to find, several times I have replaced it with a piece of plastic pipe, minutes later, back in action...

don't rule out the outter tub seal leaking or the tub itself having a pin hole.....I had one like this, took forever to pin point where the water was coming from...

Thanks for the info. This is my first experience with a Maytag. I got the w/d for a friend and they are at his place. I'll need to stop over there and get the top off to see exactly where the leak is coming from.

Now that I see the Maytag setup Im curious why they had that injector assembly and not just a continuous hose? What purpose did the injector serve? I see that models after the center dials had an open cup as part of the assembly that can over-fill and the water just spills over the side.
