I am about to realize a long-held dream - to own, once again, a working Amana RR-4D. I have one with problems, but it has been a long time since a working one has been in my kitchen.

I am very interested in finding a manual for this model. A vintage hard copy would be great, of course, but a scan would also work just fine.

I know that Automatic Ephemera has the RR-4 manual available, but this is a 4D, with the defrost feature, and I would like to have the exact manual if at all possible.

Does anyone have this?

I have a few manuals that came with my RR-4D but I don't think I have the owner's manual. I'll check what I have...

I have looked at my papers and all I have is the optional accessories... Sandy, I'll email you the larger version of the pics.

Mille Fois Merci!

Phil,

That is absolutely wonderful, even if it's not the Use and Care Guide. I will look forward to the scans, and I will be saving them to the folder I'm keeping Radarange goodies in. Many thanks in advance.

Mark,

I will be asking the Cedar Falls contingent if there's anything doing, this weekend!

P.S.:

Below is a pic of the Use & Care Guide's cover:

Sandy, Did you also get my email?

Like Mark, I think Cory would have that too!

Let us know! I'd also like to have that! And if you ever want a scan of the newer manuals I have, let me know!

Phil,

Many thanks for the email - those are very clear and nice scans! I did not get to download it last night because I had to go to bed early, to be up at an ungodly hour.

That brochure will now be in my folder of goodies for the RR-4D. I want that cart that is shown, LOL! I have the large browning skillet but not the small one. I can't wait to use it.

Question:

In the "Optional Accessories" manual Phil so generously shared, there are several things I wonder if anyone has actually ever seen.

The first is the built-in kit. This would probably be a casualty of any tear-out of a midcentury kitchen, but it would be a neat find.

The second is the Braille kit. 1974 was early for a mainstream appliance company like Amana to be concerned with the issue, but it's neat to see.

And the third is - that cart! The photo is not detailed enough to show much about it - whether the legs were chrome or gold, or the finish of the shelves. I have a feeling that Ye Olde Fayke Woode Graine was involved, but if not, it could have been a very handsome, sleek unit.

If anyone has seen these items, I'd love to hear about it. That does not mean I'm in the market for these things, mmkay? Just wondering what they were like.

A Manual Has Arrived!

Well, I now have a virtually pristine hard-copy manual; you could have knocked me over with a feather.

Tonight, I attended a rather exclusive little soiree given by Ben (swestoyz), at which Mark (kenmore71), Cory (cadman) and Cara (Lady Cadman) were also present.

When Cory came in, he handed me a copy of the exact RR-4D manual! I am ver and klempt.

Many thanks, Cory. And to all the others at Ben's tonight, it was a swell party! Great to see everyone!
