I've been collecting the tube style radios since I was 12 or 13. I would always to to second hand stores, antique stores, or garage sales and find them. Over the years I have collected quite a large ammount of them. Some are small table top models and some are the large consoles. Well I never really had a place to actually display them together. My partner just got dome building the top row of shevles in our "display" room. I brought about 50 radios from storage and filled up the shelf. Eventually we will be bulding a couple more rows on two of the walls for more that are out in storage.

I see..

Love the collection. Those are great radios.
I see Sylvania, Motorola, GE and maybe a Channel-Master.
Is that an Olympic with the aqua dial?

And I see a coin-op, a Predicta and a Setchell-Carlson TV.
Great stuff.

The one with the aqua dial your talking about, is it the one on the far right in the second picture? If thats the one your talking about then it is an Emerson.

Good eye on the predicta and stetchel carlson. Here are better pictures of them.

Wow, some awesome radios... and the Predictas are the coolest mid century television design... and I notice your 'Hardy Boys' books, too... I remember them well!

You may or may not know of this site about antique radios. It emphasizes restoration but is also about collection. I'm sure they'd like to see yours.

RADIOS!!!!For me --the other end of my business-I collect TRANSMITTERS-not the ctual ones-they are too big and need 3 ph power to run.but as pictures and catalogs from radio station suppliers-Harris-Gates,RCA,Sparta,CCA,Continental electronics, and so on.some of these are out of business. Now its boiling down to Harris and Continental.like older radios transmitters(without these remember--your radio just receives static !)I have a couple of old radios and some older radio station equipment.when I vist radio-TV stations--ask what type transmitter and studio gear they have-most are PROUD to show it to me or anyone who asks! And it could be future business for me-someone to call if the stuff breaks!and like old radios old transmitters were"Chrome&Glass")large windows in the cabinets that were chrome framed. You could see the glowing tubes and in many-the mercury vapor rectifier tubes.Later solid state rectifiers-too now-solid state all throuout-you can buy SS transmitters for MW AM that are up to 1Mgw in power! The site I work at now has lots of "chrome&Glass" transmitters.for short wave.3 of the rigs are 60yrs old-just did PM on one.3 are 40 yrs old.Two are 20yrs old.We just hope the Fed budget will keep this site playing!Enjoy the work a lot.so if any of the radios in your collections can get SW you might be able to hear VOA.Most transmissions are beamed overseas. And by the way beautiful; radio collection.Know of a couple of folks that work at VOA that collect older radios.

I would love to get my hands on a working Zenith K731 in good shape , but the ones I find for sale are either too far away, too pricey, or the cabinet and/or insides are in rough shape.
