I think spline drives are actually part of the motor shaft.Don't think they are a user replaceable part-the wagon wheels are user replaceable.Extra wheels are available from a Waring Commercial products dealer or a large well stocked restuarant supplierr.I am afraid the new "Rocket Blender" shown today is a wagon wheel one-wouldn't be surprized.I am looking for an older Spline drive one.
On the Blendtecs-these are even more powerful than the Vita-mix.their "Titan" model has a 96 oz cap jar with a blade that is over 5 in across.the machine also has a NEMA 20A plug.Its a SERIOUS blender.I have one in my collection and use it along with my VM's.Its said the blendtecs crush ice so well its turned into SNOW!!and you don't need to put any liquid in the Blendtec jar to crush ice.Tried it once-WOW!! Awsome!any of their machines can crush ice to snow.I wouldn't do the crushing too much-Blendtec has ultrasonically welded blade assemblies in their jars-have seen some small cracks in some of mine.The blades in those are not user replaceable.VM's are to their credit.In many of my smoothies I have blended whole frozen strawberries with no problems in either the Blendtec or the VM.they evn crush the strawberry seeds that no other blender will do.No clumps of strawberry seeds in the bottom of your cup!Its said crushed strawberry seeds are good for you.

Rich I first saw them a year or so ago and I was just upstairs and found two more dial models I had put aside.
Nice machines for their age of production, if Oster had changed the shape of the bottom jar to a flat style like VM then VM would have had a serious competitor on its hands. But the area around the base gets too closed in and I find big things get stuck and cut the blades off from the upper part of the jar.

Rex: that Blendtec has got to be something! 5 inch blades wholly molly you could cool my downstairs with that. I will have to look deeper into Blendtec even though I am a loyal Vmixer.
My 5000 will pulverize strawberry seeds but my 3600 won't. The 3600 tops out at 27,000 RPM the 5000 tops out at 35,000 RPm and that seems to make the diference.

Hail Blendtec--don't let the VM people hear me..........

jon:here is a link to the Blentec website-like VM they make a line of machines for home use or commercial use.The "titan" I have is generally marketed for commercial use.If you want to see Belndtec machines in action-go to a Barnes and Noble Bookstore-they use blendtecs at there snack-smoothie bar.the use either the in counter or contertop mouinted "Smoother" machines with the sound dome over the container-mine has the sound dome-beleive me its worth it with Blendtecs-try running one without the dome-its LOUD!-like a chain saw in your kitchen.Blendtecs have more powerful motors than VM-and their distnctive "winglet" dual wing blade.I have two VM machine(Touch-and Go) blend stations with the sound dome and two Blendtec (Smoother and Titan) with the sound dome.In fact the Titan is so powerful-one day I was mixing my frozen fruit smoothie in it-I only turned my back on it for a moment-the torque of its motor caused it to LEAP off my counter-from now on I watch and start it-and put the classic hand on the top of its sound dome.That hold its down.with blendtec Smoother,Titan machines you can use the motor stand provided when you buy it-or make a cutout in your counter or tabletop and mount it.you won't have to worry about it being a "stuntblender" with it mounted.most commerical users have it mounted in their counter or tabletop.

jon: A supplier for Blendtec --and Vita-mix-Everything Kitchens.I ordered my Titan from them.they also carry other lines of home and commercial appliances.If you click on their "Blendtec" menu-they show some excellent videos of Blendtecs in use.-they show the various models and the drinks you make in them.I love BOTH of my VM and Blendtecs-they are my favorites-both get the most use of blenders in my kitchen.Blendtec also has the non-tapered jar so you could use the powerful motor and blade for chopping or dry grinding.Makes a great batch of peanut butter.
