Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Someone should really save that RCA Whirlpool set. I’d make the trip to Reno but currently am saving up for a ‘66 Ford Galaxie 500 and will probably begin the process of thinning out some of my machines within the next couple of weeks.

RCA

$700 is a lot of sheckles for machines that look to have sat unused for 2+ decades, probably don't work, and will need a full intense resto.

I wouldn't trust the fridges either. No pictures of Maytags or the microwave. Good luck to them.

I will say the dryer is of the older design. No worries about lint clogging the blower housing on these dryers

Its amazing what has been showing up in the past couple months. Per the serial number on the dryer appears these are 1959. These are the same cabinet design as the 1960 set I just got a couple months ago. The price is on the high side but I bet they would clean up nicely and on the exterior look complete. Perhaps the seller is willing to negotiate as well since its an estate sale.

If anyone gets this set and wants to the dryer to be gas instead of electric, would very happily trade the gas parts in mine with the electric parts in this one.

I really wish I could get them, but Reno is a bit far from me at the moment. If someone near by is willing to pick them and hold them for me, I’d be eternally grateful.

That's a Seeger-made Coldspot.  Since it's not mentioned in the ad, I assume it's non-working.  It looks similar to the '57 bottom-mount Coldspot I came across several months ago, which worked but didn't cool adequately.  It looks like this fridge is a couple of years newer, but I don't know the exact year when Whirlpool and its frost-free models were introduced into the Coldspot line-up.  Maybe 1960 or for sure 61, since my sister had a humongous 1961 bottom mount WP-sourced Coldspot.

I think there's a good chance that the washer and dryer won't sell.  If that happens, conditions will be perfect for low-baller's delight.

I am not sure if RedCarpetDrew even checks the forum from time to time anymore, but I sent him an email about that 1959 Whirlpool set since he mentioned he wanted a similar set somewhere in the archives awhile back. Won’t be getting them, just want them to go to a good home where they’ll be restored and appreciated.

No idea, someone will probably pick them up and may try to sell them on here or Facebook marketplace.
