I've got a newer/Vintage addition to my Collection {sorry, no pix available, but working on that} I need some help with. I've just acquired a White Maytag Halo-of-Heat Electric Dryer recently, Model #DE-906 {Push-Button Controls} and the center part of the Light Lens got broken, before arriving to my ownership. This is just like the Maytag Dryer that was in the Beverly Hillbillies Show.

I'm hoping that someone might either have a full Replacement Lens, or know where/how I can locate a replacement Lens? The Dryer might either just need a "PM" done on it, or possible need to have the Heating Element replaced. I've never done a replacement Heating Element on a Maytag Halo-of-Heat Dryer, I would gratefully appreciate some help/advise from anyone willing to give me some help/advise.

I've also got the Semi-Matched White Maytag Washer, Model #A-806 {Center-Dial Timer} that will need at least a "PM" done on it. This Maytag Washer was also in the Beverly Hillbillies Show. That is similar Washer and Dryer, not these exact Machines, that I've just added to my Collection.

Peace and Happy Laundry Daze with Maytag's, Steve

Re: P.S.

If anyone that has some help/advise for me, about a replacement Lens, you can optionally write to me at my E-Mail Address of: [email protected]

Thank you for any and all help/advise, I sure hope there is a replacement Lens available somewhere out there.

Peace and Happy Maytag Laundry Times, Steve

Hi Steve! I`m using Greg-Gansky`s pic. It looks like its just a flat peice of white glass, you might take it to a glass shop and see if they can make a close match. Congratulations on a great Maytag and good luck! :)

Re: I did think about doing that:

But I wouldn't have the Maytag Logo on the Glass, as these are showing. I guess that wouldn't matter, as long as I keep these, but what if I were to later possibly sell them and someone notices the Washer having the Logo and the Dryer not having it?

Thank you for your sharing this idea, Don "Dr Mitch" I do appreciate the idea and offer. I wonder if by chance the Maytag Site might still at least show the Glass Lens and Part Number, if even "NLA" still?

Peace and Good Times of Maytag Laundry, Steve

re: decal

There are ways of reproducing the decal, depending on how much effort you want to put into it, what is an acceptable result and/or how much you want to spend. A simple approach would be to scan the logo from the original glass and print it (or have it printed) onto clear, self adhesive decal stock. Or if you really wanted to make it look factory, have it silk screened onto a new piece of glass.

Hi Steve! Congrats on your find. Now I'm not sure what a PM is but I have service manuals for old Maytags, both washers and dryers. Give me a shout if you need any info from them. I hope you can find a console.

Jason

Re: What

Thank you Jason, for your kind offer, I will certainly let you and others know, if I get stuck someplace and need some assistance.

For those who might not know what "PM" means, it stands for Preventative Maintenance. I've known about the abbreviation, for quite a while now, since I used to work for the State of Calif, operating Photo-Copy Machines and the Tech's would do a "PM" on the Machines often, to hopefully keep them opearating a long as possibly, between any major Repair {Down-Time} costing the State Department I was waiting for and possibly waiting for Parts to arrive, that might have not been in stock.

The Copier's that I operated would Print up to 130-Copies Per Minute, including an Auto Stapling/Finishing.

Peace and Keep the Machines "PM'd" and Operating Smooth, Steve

Re: What {PM} Means:

The prior Thread Posting, was supposed to be Titled as this one is, but for whatever reason, it kept only showing the {Re: What} only. Just to clarify what I was trying to Subject Title the prior Thread Posting.

Peace and Great Maytag Laundry Fun, Steve
