How about we share any favorite homemade cleaning supplies recipies. I'll start with a recipe for home made glass cleaner, which may be subject to finessing:

1 cup water
1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 TB white vinegar
Combine in a spray bottle, use as you would store bought. Using newspaper is said to clean better than paper towels.

Got anything to share??

baking soda

works great on heavy soiled / burned pots and pans. Two tablespoons on the DW door, so it goes into the prewash water

I never run potscrubber cycle just for one burned pot if most of the load is not heavy soiled, so I scrub it with a bit ( or a lot ..) of BS and a wet paper towel, then put it in the DW on eco program

Once at midnight I had to run the DW but had no more detergent (here stores close @ 10 pm )
So I used the same amount of BS in the main wash on "short" 50°C/120°F (40 mins). It worked great

TANG??

OMG I will have to give TANG a try to clean the DW.
One year I was sent to the store to buy some TANG for the holiday punch.
Dummy me went to COSTCO and bought the 5000lb mega-drum of TANG which remains largely unused to this day.
I ultimately drank a lot of it before my colonoscopy. It sure kept me peppy while sitting on the throne. However my colon came up orange in pure Trinitron color. I was going to adjust the tint but I couldn't reach it from the gurnee.
At any rate, with a half-tub of TANG sitting in the cupboard, I might as well clean my dishwasher with it. Since my colon is already clean I guess I have no other use for the stuff.
