seems that they amended the ratings plate to not include the serial numbers on new gens (will confirm on our 95620). They definately placed the serial number on the insides of the door, but the door has been replaced on this one so, like with RobM's 18580, the machines age will remain a mystery...
The buzzer buzzes and, truth be told, is bloody annoying - probably done on purpose to convince you to get off your butt and empty it.
Thank god though, as you can turn it off.
So - am quite pleased with it - would look better with a chrome door though!
Cheers from a very tired (after a long drive and sat in a jam on the M1 for ages)..

Hi, I don’t do dryers as I was never allowed one when I started collecting and repairing washing machines as dad complained about the electric bill, it was growing as it was with me washing other peoples cloths testing my machines let alon drying them I would make one exception for a flatly dryer from 40’s 50’s.
But the web site www.4hotpoint.co.uk dose have some of the old trims, just check if it is metal tag or plastic fixing when ordering.
It dose need the chrome door and a great pair, where do you keep them all?
Nice dryer - brings back memories of our old 9324. Only got rid of it in 2003 as black smoek started billowing out of it accompanied by a burning rubber smell. Hated it for static mind, but the quite fast tumbling (and very good too bearing in mind the paddles were quite small) and noise was full of character. I'm sure it'll probably still be surviving today if it didn't burn itself out, squeaking one way and grinding the other as it did for the past 5 years or so of it's life .
It's a testament in itself that it lasted 3 times longer than the Bosch that replaced it.
I remember my friend had the version of this dryer with just a low heat button and no door release - think it was unidirectional too. They had a square door Hoover too, and the same fridge freezer as us - very bizarre!
