Does anyone have Rena cookware, use it or can tell me about it?
I saw this pan in the junk store for $7.00 and just liked the look of it. I went on eBay and saw some of it selling for over $100.
I read that it is filled with oil in the bottom? I tried this one out and the underside gets incredibly hot. After it was unplugged, the pan really kept in the heat.

Made in Opportunity, Washington. Any idea how old it would be? The cat# is 7125E.
Patent # is 2,969,452

Rena cookware.

The plug I have fits but is not the original. Everything lines up and fits but there is a gap on either side. Is this dangerous?
I read on eBay that it can cook a pizza in 20 minutes. I don't doubt it.

Yes these have an oil filled core.  And as far as using the West Bend control, quite a few online forums have talked about this and it is safe to do.  They're identical.

Yep, Rena is a waterless cookware that is very much like the old Saladmaster cookware. I have that electric skillet and it works wonderfully. Your control is not the one that came with it and as mentioned above, it is safe to use. Yes the underside will indeed get hot. When you clean the unit, use care with the small legs and the handles, they can be more fragile as they age.

I'm just getting into this

waterless cookware, its intriguiing and also pretty. Greg has been sending me vibrations to buy buy buy!

I bought a Colonial Ware steamer this week and love it. Heavy duty like my Frigidaires.

Just got a Flint Ware fry pan also heavy. I find it amusing that over the last 30 years of attending the local Home Show where they always demo this stuff that I always went by and asked if the cookware works on induction, I always got a resounding and grumpy NO!

Yet both pieces I got are at the 30 year mark and both work in induction.

That is such irony considering the sellers of this stuff are SO used car salesman aggresive and kept blowing a sales contact.
