This is a non-guilt inducing request for sponsors. Rich is walking, as a survivor, in the Natick MA Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society (I'll be donating food to keep the team going) and is signing up sponsors.

Any amount is welcomed and appreciated!

With the current economic climate, I'm sure there may not be a lot of people able to contribute, and perhaps some of you already contribute to relays in your area (thank you!!!). But, I thought I'd put it out there in case anyone was looking for a good cause.

If you're able to contribute, please follow the link below to register your donation to Rich's team. If you'd prefer to send a non-web donation, make a check payable to the American Cancer Society, and send it to PO Box 286, Southborough MA 01772.

Again, no pressure, no guilt, and no... well... anything else. Well, other than appreciation, even if you can give just a dollar!

I hope nobody finds this post offensive or pushy. I just want to give people an opportunity, if able, to help make what Rich went through a year ago unnecessary! Let's work to wipe out cancer!!!!!!!!

Happy thoughts,
Chuck

p.s.- I'll bring this thread up to the top a couple of times before the May 30th event to be sure everyone has a chance to see it (not as pressure to contribute).

umm

could you give Rich's team name so I can make sure the donation is going to the right place ? I don't want to search through all the names for a "Rich" <p> As far as pressure goes, I have never felt so much undue pressure in my life !!!! :)

Hi Toggle dahlink,

You can send a check, to me, made out to Cancer At Southboro Home...C.A.S.H...Just kidding!<LOL>. Seriously the check is made out to "The American Cancer Society" and is sent to me at PO Box 286. Southboro, Mass. 01772. I look forward to participating in this very moving event :-)

Thanks, Steve!

Hi Tom,

You can search for Rich Cincotta, or the team name is "Ultimate Caregivers." I thought the link took you directly to the right page, but it doesn't. Sorry 'bout that!

Thank you!!!

non-credit card donations...

Sorry for the individual posts- my brain isn't multi-tasking right now.

The link below will give you a PDF "Offline Donation Form" that you can fill out and send directly to the Relay For Life's Natick MA office instead of sending a check or money order directly to us. I missed the link for it that was right there on Rich's page!

Thanks very much, John!!! Glad to hear all's fine there. We're doing well, though getting some serious work done on the house!

When we do get together, don't forget the Frizbee! I have a need to break something else! Actually, I bought some new toys we can play with next time (see pic)! Hope you're wearing steel-toed boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Three cheers for Relay For Life! I sponsor walkers and provide food each year at our local walk---which is a path around a lake. I don't know what you guys do out there, but we sell 'votives', which are small white paper bags weighed down with sand, with a lit votive candle in it. Thousands are sold, and they line the walking path. The name of the person you want to remember or support is written on the bag. Our walk happens late at night, and all those bags lighting the pathway is really a sight to behold.

The Natick one is on a track at the high school. Yours around a lake sounds much nicer! Ours starts at Noon Friday (5/30), and goes through 8am Saturday.

As for the luminaria, we do them too. I wasn't there, but Rich took a long lost picture of what they did. I guess when it was dark they put some on the bleachers arranged to spell HOPE. Then, while people were still walking, they re-arranged them to spell CURE. Quite something, and I'll be there to get them on film if they do it again.

Just wanted to bring this to the top once more to be sure anyone interested saw it. I won't be bumping it again.

And thanks to those of you who have been able to contribute so far! If you sent a check directly to the American Cancer Society with the offline donation form, I'll be able to retrieve that information next week from the local office and add to the honor roll on Rich's page. If you're planning on sending a check yet, you can send it to the ACS or directly here, made out to them. Rich has been provided with a tracking envelope for donations received by him.

Again, if you're able to sponsor, great! However we are aware that there are some tough times out there so absolutely no guilt if you can't!!!!!

My friend Lynn

My friend Lynn's breast cancer is GONE!!! She was stage 3 and REFUSED any surgery and only did chemo twice. The second time none of her hair fell out cuz she made a paste with aloe in the blender every night and slept with a grocery bag on her head. The check is sent....Bill in Az....

Hey Bill, thanks!!!

Speaking as a caregiver, I can only imagine the sight of her with the bag on her head each night!!! LOL!!! Great to hear that it worked, and she's doing well!

Rich chose to buzz all his hair off as soon as it started falling out, and now he doesn't even hit Supercuts any more since he keeps it so short. He bought a clipper and I cut his hair every couple of weeks. Who'da thunk it?? Me... a hair stylist!!! ROFL!!!!
