Quality Lives On!
It is amazing to me, both with Maytag and KitchenAid how these 30 year old machines show up for sale looking beautiful. I wish I had never given up on my A808 and DG808. My sister-in-law has this very matching set working perfectly after washing for a family of 4 for 30 years. Same with the KitchenAid dishwashers. I wish they made them like this today.

You are right! I don't think you will find the quality of today's appliances any where near the quality of the appliances of yesteryear. Wish I still had my KA Superba avocado green portable, and a GE Filter Flo that I gave up for a matched Maytag Neptune FL set.

Did the 08 series eliminate the little orange pilot light above the timer dial? I know the 07 series has it.

Yes in fact they did. 07's had the indicator "ON" light in an orange color. The only exception would have been the "Heavy Duty" 07's, they had the full florescent lighting on both dryers and washers. I have the control panel as display off of one of those. My A608's do not have the light.
