I usually buy liquid detergent with a measuring cap and just recap the bottle and let excess detergent drain back into the bottle. Recently, I bought a larger jug with the spout and I don’t like the measuring cap that came with it (tended to make a mess) so I’m reusing the cap from the last liquid detergent bottle. Since I’m no longer able to recap the bottle and let the excess drain back in, I’m stuck rinsing out the cap each time so it doesn’t get gross. Rinsing it out each time became a pain so I decided to treat myself to the over the top effortless solution to keep my hands dry through the process and ensure the cap is fully rinsed out of every trace of detergent! Is this too much? Or a wonderful solution?

We usually throw the caps in the last load of the day. Here a picture of our setup. We are refilling the jugs,. I had bought the one for the Lysol Sanitizer and decided to get two more for Snuggle and Tide after the real Tide one got a crack in it.
