Just think of how totally cool it would be! You could make your own appliance commercial: Imagine pirouetting around the kitchen in your bouffant chiffon dress, stirring something tasty on the CI, then waltzing over to the Foodmatic and setting the dials to beat your (Betty Crocker) cake batter. When you push the latch button, I wonder if the machine pops up suddenly, or slowly. Would be cool if it opened up slowly.
You'd be the only one on the block to have one. Heck, you'd probably be the only one in the STATE to have one!
Great idea, as was the Nutone one, but they both suffered from underpowered motors. They used essentially blender motors, and should have used food processor/ real stand mixer motors.
For light duty cooking, they would do all right.
When I did catering, I bumped into more than a few of both, and I didn't particularly care for them. I usually brought my own Cuisinart and KitchenAid mixer.
My aunt and uncle in Milton, FL had one of these worked pretty good but was low on power. Also have a friend in Madisonville, TX that has one. Bought and placed in new home they built in 1977. They love it.
I have a home remodeling book from the 70's that shows this machine and the Nutome models. They have advertisements for them.
Blendtec makes a counter mounted blender-the Connesuer model. It has a 15A motor. If they could use the other attachments with that-a 15A motor would have AMPLE power. The Blendtec machine also included a counter stand so you don't have to cut a hole in the counter. It gives you the option.Love the two I have.Haven't mounted them in the counter though. In restaurants and smoothie bars-have seen them counter mounted-Barnes and Noble is a good example at their coffee and smoothie bar.they have Blendtec machines.the above "Connesuer" model is sold by Blendtec for home use.
