Re: My Preference:

If I had the space, I would prefer to have both the Kenmore Roto-Rack and a Maytag Belt-Drive again. I had a Model of both of these Dishwasher's, some time ago and I actually liked them equally. The Roto-Rack can hold quite a lot of Small Dishes and Glassware, when you take your time getting used to how to Load it, for being a Round Rack. The Maytag Belt-Drive with the Upper Rack being for the Dishes, also has quite a good capacity to it as well on both Rack's. Actually I had bought my Parent's a 1967 Frigidaire Custom Imperial Dishwasher, with the totally Push-Button Cycle Selection and the Rapid-Advance Timer. It actually had the largest Capacity of even to me most current made Dishwasher's. It had a Vari-Level Upper Rack, with the Upper Fold-Away side Stack-Rack's and totally opened Tine's in the Lower Rack, allowing for that much more variable Loading ability. The only thing that was against that Dishwasher, thru the years was having the Vinyl-Coated Interior, because it rotted out around the opening of the Tub Bottom, where the Motor and Pump were located. It was the Copper-Tone Color of that era and basically color-wise matched the rest of my Parent's Kitchen's Major Appliances. I believe that the Frigidaire Dishwasher even had a larger Capacity than my newer Taller-Tub Maytag 2-Rack Dishwasher that I bought a couple of years ago, when they first came out for purchase.

Peace and Happy Dishwashing, Steve

Re: Shame/Agree:

"Shame" on you kennyGF suggesting that your Wife do the Dishes. Which is she anyway, the Roto-Racker or the Belt-Driver...{LOL}

"Agree" thanks Bob, I was hoping that someone would be familiar with the older Frigidaire Dishwasher's. I couldn't believe the Capacity it had, when I went out to look for a new Dishwasher for my Parent's. I studied the Consumer's Bulletin {back then} as well as the Consumer Report's {independant of each other} the Rating's of the many different Brands/Model's and with liking the Frigidaire Washer I indirectly bought for them the year before, I was determined to get a Frigidaire Dishwasher. I naturally have always liked all of the "Bells & Whistles" although for whatever reason, I didn't get the "TOL" Frigidaire Washer, I got the WCDK Custom Deluxe. I'm guessing that I liked the Selection's being separate Dial's, for the Wash and Rinse Temps, the Wash and Spin Speeds and the Water Level Control's. Ever since then, when Sears came out with the 1968 Lady-K Washer and Dryer, that was the first real fancy Set that we had, thanks to me. I bought {with my money} them for my Parent's and I bought them the 1985 Lady-K Set {Mechanical Control's} because I wanted them to have the extra Capacity Washer and Dryer.

OH!!! How I wish I would have known about the Appliance Club Site several years earlier, I would have still had several of the Washer's and Dryer's that I had decided to get rid of.

Peace and Happy Dish Washing, Steve
