I am trying to replace the wheels on my new (to me) Royal 880 from May of 1978 and I have the new wheels but I can't get the old ones off! It doesn't appear that the nut holding them on is a screw of any type, and the new nuts that came with the wheels are the kind that are just hammered into place. So, how do I get the old ones off? Thanks in advance!

It seems to me that you can "pop" that little back cap off with a small flat headed screwdriver and under that is a screw or maybe a cotter pin. Once you get that cap off, you should be able to remove the wheel.

When you put it back on, put the large end of the screwdriver against it and tap with a hammer on the other end gently and it should snap back on.
