Well yes,

it was not thought out I agree. But having been brought up in the countryside where hunting was/is a common thing the slaughter of an animal for food is considered a normal event. Remember in Alaska many people hunt and slaughtering an animal is an everyday thing. Having said that I also have to point out she should have known better from a public relations standpoint. She is going to be on the publics radar for a long time. With the rumor mill in place about running in 2012 anything she does out of the norm is going to get a lot of attention. Really dumb thing to do. It seems she has risen to her level of incompetence. The election is over and the country needs to move forward. I am tired of seeing Palin stories of any kind.

Peter, I believe the media includes George Will, David Frum, Charles Krauthammer, David Brooks and the legion of other conservatives who publicly spoke out against Palin, and said she is unqualified to be president.

IMO Palin was a blessing, because her selection by John McCain proved his judgment is every bit as terrible as Mr. Bush's.

I think the point of the video was supposed to be that she was pardoning a turkey. But it went wrong oh so wrong. If it were me i would have said ...do we have to have this guy in the frame? Then I would have either moved on to another area while he did what he had to do. I know where and what happens to the animals we consume as protein. It wont stop me from cooking a turkey or eating beef,pork or my fave chicken.
Anyways the point was that if she wants to run in 2012 then mark my words this video will come back to haunt her in some way. But is was something i didnt expect to see on tv last night on Countdown.

Wow

This was a total set up.
It blows my mind that she still can't figure out what the media is doing to her.
The camera man and boom mike operator keep laughing. The guy killing the Turkey is blown away that he is still in the shot. The interviewer ask her if she is worried about the safe programs being on the CHOPPING BLOCK!
She is stress relief to network crews. What easy and fun work for them. And they don't even have to edit it to make it "look" bad.
