Scary Toys

When you were really young, say 2-5, did you have a toy that scared you?

I wondered about one thing for years and just happened upon it.

If I remember correctly, you pulled the front of this gruesome thing and it would come along, leaving the back of it behind until the slinky stretched enough that it would suddenly yank the back part forward, and when it met the front, both parts would jerk even further towards you.

I remember my parents showing me this, me pulling it, and crying like heck when it unexpectedly leapt at me!

I remember those and I think they even came in different characters at some point. First time I ever saw a Slinky was when my uncle brought one home for my cousins. No amount of pleading would get my dad to buy me one. I think he figured 99 cents or whatever it cost back then was a waste of money for a coil of metal. Same with the time I wanted a Frisbee. Course a 16 oz bottle of Coke only cost a dime and chocolate bars were still a nickel.
