Was at Sears over the weekend, and the one KM Calypso set had a "Close Oot" sign on it.

On the Sears website, I only found the WP Calypso. Are they giving up on the KM model?

Calling Leslie...

The Early run of these machines had a lot of mechanieal promblems, i am starting to see a lot of them at the salvation army stores, there was a ton of them at the local sears outlot store most of them din`t sell very well they got a real bad rap early on, they are great for large bedspreads but they never really cleaned that good in my opnion they just spray the water into the tub and swish around impressive to watch
but compared to my old maytags they are just a modern day washing gimick that really din`t catch on save your money and buy an old vintage washing machine they are the best !!!

No, this was a brand new pair, with the redesigned console. I know the redesigned console was a recent addition, that's why I'm surprised not to find them on the Sear website even.

discontinuation

Yes,finaly, the calapsos are history.Every one I had either burned out on the board, the pump would leak or freeze,or the impeller would lose complete contact with the shaft.I realy tried to like them I even got the see through lid for the Whirlpool model but that one would not use enough water to move the clothes around then would not drain the water out after using it new from the Sears Outlet Store for only 3 weeks.I am however impressed with the Oasis.I truly believe (for those of you out there who are stuck on top loading washers and refuse to even consider converting)these washers and dryers are much better constructed and will be more of an asset to Sears and Whirlpool than the Calapsos ever were.I know,I know, there are those of you out there who probably have them and adore them and haven't had a minute's trouble with them.More power to all of you.Really!I mean that! However, the junkyards and used appliance stores are jam packed down here with them and every one I have seen was either rusted out at the bottom on the frame or the interior parts were so messed up,they weren't worth a nickle.

I noticed the relatively new HE2 3.3 front loaders are on closeout at Sears...price ending with 88 cents. A newer model on the horizon?
