1965 Kenmore electric dryer

Nice looking dryer to be sure but it has a lot of miles on. It needs a new fluorescent lightbulb and starter for starters, don’t think it’ll go anywhere unless they come down to a much more realistic price. Something under 50 bucks would be about right given the heavy where the inside of it has seen,

Older style whirlpool, built Kenmore dryer

Hi Sean, yes of course it’s got the perforated rear drum one. It’s 1965 dryer to start with and the picture that Glenn was nice enough to repost. Shows this, another reason why this dryer is not worth much money because it’s so slow and energy in efficient, this dryer would use four times as much electricity to dry clothing as a new heat pump dryer for example.

Huh, my Whirlpool dryer after I replaced the cycling thermostats dried much, much faster. It would take and hour to dry towels but as soon as I replaced the cycling thermostats, easily was a good 5 to 10 minutes faster. I suppose what made these dryers slower is when that polyurethane belt stretched, it caused the blower to not run at it’s fullest potential which would cause the incoming air to scoot behind the drum and out the exhaust. Though, I definitely can see these dryers not being efficient if you jammed it full of clothes and for sure would take a good while to get them dry.

Unfortunately, my Whirlpool dryer has been out of commission until the timer debacle is over on it’s matching washer. Going to attempt to see if it’s even possible to print out a new cam assembly for it.
