Setting Whirpool Dryer Dryness Level

As I was going though the FAQ's on Whirlpool's site, I found out how to program the preset dryness level setting. I have a Whirpool made Kenmore HE3 dryer and will try it when I get home - has anyone ever tried this?

My Whirlpool made Maytag has the sensor settings you can adjust. It just didn't seem to get it done on heavier items like towels. I did the adjustment to level 2 which is supposed to give 15% more drying. It worked just fine.

The confusing thing I had at first is you do the adjustment with the dryer off. You hold the sensor setting for five seconds and then the display comes on. After that you adjust with the + / - buttons and then push start/pause and the settings are changed.

I can't seem to set the dryness level on my dryer. It is a 2003 Kenmore HE3. The dryness level button also controls the child lock. If you hold it down, the controls lock (or unlock). I did try holding every other button down (other than the cycle buttons which turn the machine on), and got no response. Oh well. I guess I will have to upgrade soon.
