Last night, I opened a pint of the Sloppy Joe mix I canned as Sandy was bearing down on us. Since it needed to boil for 10 minutes, like all canned foods, I decided to use the microwave to avoid the risk of scorching the thick mixture so I took the Shadow Iris pan off the shelf for the task. I heated the mixture in it then stored what was left from last night in the fridge until this afternoon. I mixed chopped fresh onion, a little olive oil and jarred salsa with it. The olive oil smooths the flavor of the salsa.

I really like the Shadow Iris pattern. I only have the one round sauce pan with the fixed handle, but it is in a place in the cupboard where I can see it each time I open the doors.

I also like the shadow iris pattern, I recall as a child my mothers friend had a few shadow iris casseroles , as well as the matching corelle dinnerware.

I have one piece of shadow iris, it is the Rival Crock Pot wit the 3 litre shadow iris casserole liner

It's nice to be able to find things we remember from our childhood. Shadow Iris is not from my childhood, but I like the subtle design as opposed to Spice of Life or what was it, Friendship(?) that had the harsh primary colors and the heavy pattern.
