I heard on the news a few days ago that Rosie O'Donnell will not be on the view anymore. Monday is her last day. It will be amazing to hear her last comments!

Barbara Walters Statement was:

"We will all miss Rosie on The View and hope she will be back with us often next season. She remains for me a cherished friend and colleague." ... Yeah, right. I bet she's jumping with joy that that bag of trouble is leaving.

The general concenus is:

Rosie wanted Barbara's job. Rosie O'Donnell approached ABC during new contract negotiation last winter about getting rid of Barbara Walters and taking over ...

And finally..

O'Donnell is expected to land her own daytime show, possibly by 2009.

Here we go again!

Grade: Does Not Play Well With Others

Rosie has a habit of taking her ball and going home when things don't go her way; this is just one more example. ONE panel member on "The View" stood up to her ONE time, and now Her Royal Highness has stalked off again.

If I was a TV exec considering Rosie for a new show, I'd be real worried about this. This time, O'Donnell broke a contract that ran through late June. Bad enough she can't take criticism, but breaking contracts should really give the industry pause.

Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish

Woman is a big-mouthed broad, who steam rolls anyone in her way. Sort of like Ethel Merman without any talent or charm.
Never understood why they cast her on "The View" in the first place. Sitting quietly chatting with the girls is NOT that woman's thing. Telling the girls what to do and not being questioned, is more up her street.

Ratings is why she was on there, that's about it. Babs isn't getting any younger and I'd dare say many of the younger viewers don't even know much about her as they do Rosie. Both are astute media businesswoman, they both have their schticks down pat. Everything about it is contrivid just as the Donald melodrama was.

well...

my 2 cents is..Rosie, like the President is a highly polarizing figure. many people love her (me) and many people hate her. People also don't realize she donates a large percentage of her income to charities. namely, the "All for Kids" foundation which she helped found. She does not have to do this. In this Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan obsessed country, that counts for something with me. I also often wonder do people really hate Rosie because she is an outspoken, proud lesbian who openly discusses her life with partner Kelli? Would they hate her as much if she was married to a man and lived a "traditional" lifestyle? Why is it in this country when a woman has a strong opinion she is a bitch, but a man is considered strong?? namely,Hillary Clinton,Natalie Maines, Barbra Streisand..etc While I often don't find myself agreeing with Rosie's opinions, namely the 9/11 conspiracies, I do 100% agree that George W Bush is a disgrace to the Presidency and should be impeached for the disaster and lies he and Cheney told about Iraq. Regardless of what many people think about Rosie, she is a money maker and that shows in the 20% increase in ratings for " The View" over last year. I personally think the show is going to tank unless they hire another controversial figure to replace Rosie..namely, Rosanne Barr, Kathy Griffin..to name a few. " The View" will never be what it once was when Meredith Viera was moderator.

Rosie's donations...

Rosie's For All Kids Foundation" in 1997. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $56 million and awarded more than $22 million dollars in grants to over 1,400 child-related non-profit organizations to benefit low income families across the country. This past year Ms. O'Donnell established a fund to provide $3 million dollars to children and families displaced by Katrina. In 2003 she established "Rosie's Broadway Kids," a program that provides in-school, after-school and summer instruction in musical theater to the public school children of New York.

In 2004 Rosie and Kelli O'Donnell launched R Family Vacations, and along with 1,500 people - gay, lesbian, straight, young and old - set sail on the first ever gay family cruise to the Caribbean.

She "may" be as some people put it, brash, opinionated, loud, a bit obnoxious, not funny(do not agree)..she does indeed have a good heart.

Well, I saw the show that caused all the rukus and IMO Rosie was perfectly justified in what she said. For one thing that twit Elizabeth would not shut up and let Joy Behar finnish what she had to say.
That (rudeness) is what set Rosie off. Elizabeth's bad manners were the REAL problem here.

That Rosie happened to say something that is true is what got the little twit so upset. And the twit, being dumb as a rock to begin with, started running her mouth at Rosie----duh---so naturally Rosie got fired up!

It was wonderful to hear such a "spirited" debate. Too bad there aren't more, especially since the mass-media has shirked their responsibilities and tends to "tow the party line". As Rosie pointed out, while America concerns itself with all the televised talent shows, (and such things as this morning's national news on NBC who is reporting how many square-feet the shoe department at Sax is (8500sf)), the Bush administration has created a "holocaust" in Iraq that has killed nearly 700,000 of is citizens and well over 3000 of ours. All of America has blood on our hands.

IMO Rosie couldn't be loud and brash enough if that is what it takes to get America's attention and stop the stupidity.
Taking a stand, and fiercely defending it, is American as apple pie-----something many American's don't seem to "get".
Personally, I wish there were more Rosies!

Donald Trump was quoted saying "Everyone knows that (Elizabeth) is the dumbest person on television..."

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Rosie has done a lot of good in her career, not to mention paving the way for Ellen's show where sexuality is not and never has been an issue with mainstream America.

I agree, Steve, the media in the country has become opinionated and biased but instead of it being billed as opinion, that position is woven into the text of the story in such a way that is misleading and 30 years ago would have warranted congressional hearings on capital hill for unfair and illegal reporting practices. We need to know the truth, but those media giants aren't interested in the truth, just profits so they cater to what they think their audience wants to hear. Turn off Fox Noise, Cable Noise Network, etc. and READ.

I think Rosie has brought up many thought-provoking ideas worth discussing, and no one else has had the balls to do it. I admire her not other for that, but for putting serious money where her mouth is to help others.

So many "celebrities" whine and complain about world issues or politics but do nothing with their riches except pamper themselves.

I like seeing her on TV and what she has to say, and hope she returns with her own show soon.

Danemodsandy, I agree with you

You said it. Rosie is an angry bully who can't stand it if you don't see it her way! She is volatile and unpredictable. I'm not surprised by her departure from the "View". I saw it coming.

Somewhere out there, Star is laughing her ass off

The problem is that in general I agree with Rosie's positions but she's the last person I want to be my spokesperson. Bottom line, she's not very smart and she doesn't research much of what she holds as truth. Elizabeth Hasselpfeffer is a Republican stooge idiot tw-t-for-brains, but she comes off as heroic for standing up to the obnoxious lesbian bully. I can't help but think this has all been staged because I would expect that the largest share of "View" -ers are from the red states.

Those of us that would depose the treasonous clowns in control of this country need to remember that the US is not just the extreme coasts and the thoughtful upper Midwest.

Sure, Rosie has done a lot for charities. I'll give her that. But it still doesn't give her an excuse for acting the way she does!

One of life's lessons:

The more money you have the easier it is to get away with strange behaviour!

TV is about ratings, for ratings set the Advertising prices.

Rosie needed a re-entry point into TV, and "The View" - a fading morning chat show - was perfect for that. These little dramas between her and those two twits (trump and whats-her-name) helped boost the show's ratings, and re-established her as a TV powerhouse.

Love her or hate her, you have to admit that she's a savvy woman. Look for her to have a major project within the next few months.
