Spent much of Tuesday stripping down vintage GE MM DW so could go out for recycle rubbish today on Wednesday.
Machine had become surplus to requirements and was just sitting about haunting one taking up much needed space. Offered it up a few times with no takers and clearly something needed to be done vis-à-vis space appliance collection wise.
Salvaged timer control (with knob), entire motor/pump assembly, quick connect drain/fill hoses, spray arm, relay (which is new), and lower racks. Machine had lots of metal to metal connections which as one may imagine after decades of hot/moist DW conditions did not always unfasten easily. Was going to get cord and thingy out but couldn't figure out how and was that fed up by then so left it.
Will put salvaged bits up for sale on eBay or wherever to see if can make some of money back paid for unit. Have a supply of Cascade powdered DW detergent (Complete and Pure Rinse) stashed away that will be put up for bid as well. Don't see getting another automatic DW anytime soon so why hang onto those bits.
