I've been searching through threads for shipping companies but I don't see any recent post anyone have a suggestion on shippers who are reasonable I bought the 1951 Kenmore dryer in Pittsburgh and need to ship it to California in addition the woman has what looks like a late 40s Servel refrigerator for sale I can post pictures in shoppers Square if anybody's interested.

I've used H2H ( Home to Home shipping ) they seemed reasonable, timewise it was about a month before I got my items. I used Don Hill, he was very cheap, but I ended up waiting a year and a half for an unused Kenmore set from Georgia to be delivered to upstate NY. I ended up having to drive 5 hrs to PA where he lives to pick them up and then drive all the way back.... others have had there items delivered by him pretty quick, so I think it depends on where you are and how soon you get your items with him... I have #'s for both if you want to call and get quotes....Jim

I have used Uship.com to find shippers.  I have had good results, some great.

Not sure if this may apply to large appliances but I have shipped many large heavy vintage powered lawn mowers via Fastenal. Its a little known secret they do offer very reasonable shipping to the public. The logic is why have an empty trailer going back from delivering shipments to their stores when they can haul things and make money? The only thing is you have to drop it off there at one of their locations that has a forklift. As an example I shipped 450lbs worth of two mowers from CT to MI and the charge was only $150.00. UPS wanted $400.00. If you can find a proper pallet to put it on they may do it. Look online for the number for the location of the central terminal near you to get a price. My local store is about 3 miles away. In fact Im shipping a 1930 mower on a 4'X6' pallet this week from CT to OH. The cost is only $100.00 and they are very careful with your stuff. Just band it well and pallet wrap it. Only drawback is it may take 2 weeks to get your stuff during transfers. Hope this helps.
