Gotta love Montgomery Wards’ advertising of their TOL machine! I had a lower model version, and enjoyed the versatility and features it offered. Didn’t like the extra-long rinse and final spin that came with the permanent press and delicate options, but overall, a great machine! Have to say Wards Signature machines (along with Norge, of course) were the most “masculine” machines around.

They were absolutely no non-sense machines. They could handle anything thrown at them with absolute ease. In my mind, they probably used the most water of any domestic machine ever made, including GE. I'd be curious to know just how many gallons that beast used set on full load with 2 rinses, I've always wondered about it. My mother had the 1969 model, it lasted about 5 or 6 years if I remember correctly.

My Grannie had one of these in the 70s, in Harvest Gold of course. Lasted 10 years before getting replaced by a Kenmore. Very solid machine. I bet there are more of these surviving out there somewhere than anyone knows.
