I have to agree that Sirius has some great rare music.
I just wished it did not sound like crap! It is so compressed and lifeless in sound.

Awesome!

Yup, I once played a disco dance for an Elementary school, did the entire thing off vinyl.

Kids were like "What the hell is that?" ;-)

So many favorites but I would have to say this one

Thelma Houston-Don't Leave Me This Way

or this one

Amii Stewart Knock On Wood (Oh My Dear Lord, THAT HEADDRESS!!)

A440. Agreed on the fidelity of Sirius. My iTunes do not have the same fidelity of the music of yesteryear in some cases. Yep, "Lovin' Is Really My Game" really is a great song. My laptop is down and out and I am using iPad to post. I cannot figure out how to cut and paste some more obscure tunes on here......using this iPad. For some reason the "copy" will not "paste" on a share from YouTube for me. Grrr

I think #1 and #2 should be reversed.

I agree. When Giorgio Moroder put together "I feel Love" with Donna Summer that was about as good as it got. That song had technical excellence to it. Giorgio himself opened the door to synth electonic music that would become popular with the coming New Wave movement. He was a man ahead of his time.

My favorite cover of the song, by Venus Hum.

I remember when I first saw the knock on wood video years later, it was so strange that it was so close to what I had pictured in my mind that the music video would look like.....

What exactly is "classic dance"? Am I getting that old? Of course, classic dance to me is high NRG or Hip House - I went to Hip House High and all the thugs were wandering around going "work your body, ooo, jack your body, ooo"....

My definition of "classic dance" would be dancable music from approximately 1977 to 1983 or so. Arguably there are great danceable tunes from other years and decades. I also refer to " classic rock" as rock music from the mid 1960s through 1970s and early 1980s. I can't be too far off as there are radio stations that feature "classic dance" and " classic rock ", inveriably the tunes come from the years I mention above for the genre mentioned.
