I'm trying to track down a reasonably good fridge-freezer for an elderly relative of mine who has a very oddly shaped kitchen. It will be replacing an existing 48cm wide model from some unheard of brand. It's not a terrible fridge, but it's prone to building up a lot of ice.

I'm trying to get her a good frost-free fridge/freezer and I can't seem to find anything other than own-brand stuff in Ireland in that size. There are loads of options, but almost everything's at least 55cm - 60cm wide.
The few fridge/freezers in that kind of size are all odd rebadges / store brands.

Any ideas? Anyone aware of anything I could perhaps do a special order for?

I'd rather a mainstream, reliable brand, rather than something totally unheard of.

The only other option is to reconfigure the kitchen, which would be a fairly major ordeal.

Just to give you a bit of a sense of what's available here:

Some Irish retailers' fridge selections:

I note Samsung's "French Door" style fridge/freezer is getting listed in a few places a "French Style" which makes no sense.

I presume you are looking for 50/50 style. I had a look at UK sites of Marks Electrical, AO.com and Currys. Seems like the only thing that is going to come anywhere near what you want are Logics from Currys. At least they are not too dear even if not a "name". I doubt you are going to get anything frost free, and even if you could the space inside would be practically nothing - I discovered that when I bought a new Frost free freezer last year and, in spite of it have the same footprint and height as my old one the space inside is much reduced

Thanks for the tips.
I'll check some of those Logik models out.

I might just look into modifying the kitchen to fit a normal fridge as it would give a lot more options.
