Solid State from Jersey City

I picked up this little number at the Goodwill today. True, it's a solid state, but I'm no audiophile, and I'm tired of tubes that break my heart ;-)

How much did that baby set you back? looks sweet! Enjoy it! A local thrift shop just threw 8 of them away. EIGHT! I was crushed!! As were they... I went back to buy one and they were gone. I guess we win some and loose some. Still it's so sad.

With the acquisition of the Emerson (With space age technology!) I am in the market to unload the mighty Motorola (with Astro-Sonic!) so if anyone is interested, drop me a line.

btw, the main reason I am making the switch is because that annoying Astro-Sonic keeps kicking in and out. You'll be listening to a newscast and all the sudden it will get very echo-y

Emerson-DuMont

Some time ago, a friend gave me a stereo console by Emerson-DuMont. (The two companies joined forces in the 1960s I believe) The stereo had the identical radio and turntable but cabinet was entirely different. The badge said DuMont instead. Bill of sale was 1967.
That radio is extremely well made and cleanly laid out. Unfortunately it died when my basement flooded.

check out this h h scott rack system. i believe the cabinet was custom made and it has a garrard turntable.
