What agitator did the 1967 Lady K have? Were they still using the Roto Flex? Or did they go back to the Roto Swirl for that year. For the two previous years the LKs had the Roto Flex, and if I remember right, it was the LK agitator for only two years. I know that the Vari Flex had not made it's debut yet.

Beautiful set. Whoever got them is lucky.

Have a good one,
James

Agitator In The 1966-67 Lady Kenmore Washer....

"James":

The mid/late 1960's were an interesting time in the Kenmore camp.

Starting with the 1965 Lady Kenmore, the Lady Kenmores during the years of 1965 thru 1967 featured the "Roto-Flex" Agitator (which did not have a skirt on the bottom).

But while this was going on, during the same time, the "Vari-Flex" Agitator was introduced. While the Lady Kenmores at the time have featured only the "Roto-Flex" Agitator, the "Vari-Flex" was being intoduced and being featured in the #2 Kenmores (believe it or not, they were called Model 900's..... and they also featured the same Keyboard Consoles as the Lady Kenmores did).

The success of the "Vari-Flex" Agitator went over SO BIG, that by the time the 1968 Lady Kenmore (the one that was "Femininely Designed") was introduced, the "Vari-Flex" Agitator has made its debut in the the 1968 Lady Kenmore (because of (not surprisingly) it's flexibility).

The "Vari-Flex" was then featured in both the 1969-73 Lady Kenmores and the #2 Kenmores of the same era.

I hope that answer your question more clearly......

Charles:

Thank you. It does answer my questions, and more so. It is interesting that the newer more innovative agitator was being introduced in the 900s instead of the Lady. I guess the powers that be were trying to determine the appeal of the Vari Flex before they featured it in a Lady Kenmore.

I almost forgot to mention it: I responded to your question in Thread 16212 (Tasty Morsel In Seattle).

Have a good one,
James

YAY

I was on pins and needles worried someone else might beat me to these today but luck was with me and after work I went and picked these beauties up. A huge thanks goes to Jon for not announcing these in the forum before I had a chance to decide if I wanted them. I didn't have to think too much on this!
