Went to visit hubby's parents yesterday and one of them casually mentions their late 90s Maytag washer was too far gone to fix (due to nothing but cold washes and the cheapest detergent more than likely) so they bought a new one. Fully expecting one of the new top load non washers to be named as the new member but lo and behold it's a Speed Queen! Manual knobs, they're not going overboard
but a real live washing machine. She even agreed to only use high quality detergents, hence the box of tide on the shelf, and warm water washes. After i explained the second rinse necessity they're ready for washing. Surprised and glad for them
