My New Hero

You have been such an inspiration to me. The deep disappointment was shared by us all. It was pure joy to see you reconstruct the Rollermatic and slay the devil of bad luck. I chuckle when I see you on the go cart and the songs of the 50's and 60's seem to go along with the memories of salvaging parts of lawn mowers and washing machines to make a traveling heap. Thank you for the link, the happy song and another glimpse of who you are.

when you figure out who i am

please let me know! half the time i don't have a clue!

but i do love anything associated with the 60's, especially the early to mid sixties. this song reminds me of debbie reynolds, elizabeth taylor, doris day, marilyn ofcourse, the ronnettes, judy, eydie who sang it, and all those marvelous pink and turquoise washers and dishwashers that we all love to collect!

it was a magical period of our history and my life that i am so grateful that i was able to experience, even if i was a kid! i think it was better that i was a kid! it means more to me now!

being a sober member of AA for 12 years i am constantly reminded that i have to "live for today" and "only have today" but i'm sorry i cannot or will not give up my childhood memories of washers and movie stars and the beatles and dishwashers and amusement parks and songs that inspre me even today!

thanks for the kind words, appreciate it!

Great Song!

Eydie always was a splendid singer. Here's a link to a fine duet with Steve Lawrence (who else?) . . . in this case it's a great cover version of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun, a grunge-rock anthem of the '90s. While the original is very nice, it's truly amazing to hear what two real lounge professionals can do to make it ever so much more beautiful. And when Eydie sings the line "no one sings like you anymore" to Steve, you know she really means it!

Bossa Novas and Sambas, with a strong jazz influence, is by far my favorite type of music. I may go a little crazy with the youtube clips : D
