This one turned up on Craigslist Montreal... I will hopefully go and see it tomorrow evening and priced at a mere $30, I may just nab it! The picture isn't that good, but I am going to guess it's a mid-70s model, made by WCI. Looks like a MOL machine - I will also guess the three pushbuttons are for Pots and Pans, Normal Wash, and Rinse and Hold cycles. According to the ad, it was gently used... We shall see!!

Well, Edsels have become highly collectible, no?? LOL
I am still interested in the machine mostly because Avocado is already starting to become a hard to find colour. That and the fact that I have a clear opportunity to snag a dishwasher while hubby is off at a conference in Alaska...

Beauty

. . . is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's a beauty and you should not hesitate to buy it. I would too if the opportunity presented itself to me. It's beautiful. Pay no attention to combo52. That's just his opinion - and a rather mean spirited and rude one at that.

Enjoy, Have Fun

They were very loud and had no filter. It was quite disappointing to see how a dishwasher that had been highly recommended right above the 15 KitchenAids could be turned into such a piece of junk. There was one in my condo. Inside it still looked sorta like a WH, but what they did with the pump and motor was sad. Thankfully, I had my KDS58.

I think I am most interested in this machine because it looks SOOOO much like the Viking machines (they were rebadged Westinghouse models, anyway) that I fondly remember gaping at for hours in the old Eatons store in downtown Montreal...

$30 dollar white westinghouse dw

This looks to be the last dw that WH designed it was a disastrous attempt to make a machine that could compete with the cheap builder machines that GE was selling new home builders. I actually do think you should get it you will be amazed at the construction and all the short cuts they took in the design and building of this machine. I could go on for pages about this machine , the racks didn't even have wheels on them just plastic skids, but I must say it is historic and if I found a mint one I would probably get it for the museum. Bob of hollywood you may not make it through your probation period.

badly rusted motor shaft

I found a 1978 westinghouse dishwasher at the dump in 1982
(only 4 yrs old!)and salvaged the pump/motor assembly to
examine and possibly use for other apps-when i checked it out
i found it leaked because rust had formed on the motor shaft
under the impeller and expanded, cracking the bakelite impeller.
The pump, driven by a 1/2hp,3000rpm shaded pole motor mounted
horizontal, was a lot like that of a GE dishwasher of the same
era.

Well, I got it!

I had a pretty good idea that I would - I just had a feeling about this one. I saw it on Friday evening, making a detour into St-Leonard (east of Montreal) and through incredible traffic... The seller told me the machine belonged to his parents and had been used only on 'big special occaisons'. It was a little grimy on the outside and loading a dishwasher into a car oneself is a little awkward, BUT I got it down to Ogden! I spent the day Saturday working on setting the foundations for a new deck, so I only got to examine the machine on Sunday...

Can't figure this out...

I can't really understand what this insulated conduit leading from the pump is... There is an exhaust opening on the very bottom of the cabinet. Is this some kind of a moist air exhaust system??

Looks very nice!
It looks to be in very good shape!
Happy you saved it.
Are you going to use it soon?
