Just got a call from the coast saying the new SQ FL machine was acting funny, stopping mid cycle...ultimately failing to drain.
So far the front panel was removed and the machine was drained that way. I am not there until summer, so the local authorized service center was called and are on the way out later this week.
One theory is the water supply was not turned on initially before running a load and this may have throw the machine off. Apparently the machine was unplugged and plugged back in to power, they thought this might get it to drain, but it didn't. However no attempt was made to run a load after unlugging/plugging in the power cord. I suggested now trying to run a load but my mother's handy man on the scene doesn't want to risk having to manually drain it again.
Any thoughts?[this post was last edited: 2/4/2016-19:50]

Which Model?

Is this a touchpad model or the knobs?

Does the pump run when selecting a spin only?

Knobs.
Not being there I can't answer beyond what I wrote earlier. It's probably just as well a tech comes out and gives it the once over, even if unplugging the machine from power may have effected a reset and "fixed" the issue. That is supposed to happen tomorrow and I'll update when I know more.

Well got word the repair feller has been and gone.
Drum roll please: and the culprit was THE...

Nothing. BAM!
Machine runs fine, either unplugging it reset things or my Mom has ghosts playing games.
I wondered if a split second power interuption may have caused the machine to loose it way through the cycle...
hard tellin' not knowin'.

BREAKING NEWS....

The following news bulletin just in from the coast...
87 year old fesses up to having a senior moment.
"It was me, I took the cloths out early because the machine stopped spinning."
She added, "I stopped following the instructions you left because I thought I had the hang of it."

More news on this still breaking story as we receive it.

Sounds like a poor resident of the independent living place my mom terrorized for a while. The poor soul asked if I could help her with a tub full of water that would not drain out. She had the lid up to show me what she found. I tried putting the lid down to see of any of the lights would come on and instantly the thing went into spin-drain. The instructions said the cycle took 30 minutes so the poor anal thing came back in 30 minutes and the machine was not quite done. I hope she never had to toilet train a child.
