Speed Queen Front Load Rinse Cycle

Does the newer FF7 speed queen front load release the softener on the final rinse if you choose multiple rinses? Or does it release the softener on the first rinse cycle every time? Also, is there anything different other than than cosmetics from the FF7 and the previous version of the front load (amount of water used, ect)? Thanks!
