I found a picture of the first actual washer I can remember growing up with. It originally had the metal agitator. It was replaced later with a black bakelite agitator after the repairman broke it trying to remove it from the machine. I'm not sure what was wrong with it that brought the service call but after that I remember my mom would take the agitator off and let it sit on the lid to "dry off" so it wouldn't get frozen into place again. This sat in the kitchen of an old house we rented in Anoka, MN. The scene is one of me and my brother eating cake while my youngest brother only got a ritz cracker it seems. At least he was happy!
By the way, I've never seen this model in anyones collection.
